BBC's response to GreekLondon regarding the lack of coverage of the Bicentenary Independence Day celebrations

On Tuesday 30/3/2021 GreekLondon.net sent a letter to the BBC regarding the lack of coverage of the Bicentenary Independence Day celebrations on the BBC New website. BBC repplied the following:

Ref: CAS-6626834-R4C6M1

Thank you for getting in touch about the BBC News website.

A range of factors affect how we decide which stories to cover, including:

Is it breaking news, or a dated story? Does it follow on from a recent event, or change our understanding of things? Is it unusual, or attracting national interest?

On this occasion, as you say, we didn't publish an article reporting Greece's Bicentenary Independence Day celebrations but these judgements form part of the legitimate expression of the editorial judgement of journalists and editors- and so do not usually raise the prospect of a breach of standards.

In closing, I am unaware of any plans to dedicate a future article to the story.

Best wishes,
